It's a.....

On Halloween we had our 20 week ultrasound and we found out the baby is a boy!!!!  We took Colin with us to the appointment and left Kendal at home with my mom.  We didn't think she would last through the appointment, but we thought Colin would be pretty excited about it.  Throughout the entire pregnancy Colin has called the baby a boy so it is really nice that it worked out that way.  He is super excited to have a baby brother.  Brian and I are very excited to welcome a new little man into our family!

Happy Halloween!

This year for Halloween we trick-or treated around our own neighborhood.  Colin was Luke Skywalker the pilot and Kendal was a lady bug.  We hit the neighborhood for about 25 minutes to 1/2 hour before Colin said he was cold and wanted to head home.  Once we were home, we passed out candy to all the kids who came to our door.  I think the kids had just as much fun passing out candy to the trick-or-treaters as they had trick-or-treating themselves!

Orange Day at Preschool

Colin's preschool hosts not only a Harvest Party to celebrate Halloween, but they also host a classroom party called Orange Day.  It is only about 1/2 hour, all the kids wear orange, they eat treats and play games.  Kendal and I went to the party and Colin was pretty pumped to see us.

Pumpkin Carving

Last weekend we carved pumpkins.  Brian did most of the actual carving.  Colin wanted a scary face pumpkin and Kendal wanted a happy face pumpkin.  Once the pumpkins were carved, the kids were so excited about them.  Kendal was hugging her pumpkin and didn't want to let it go.  Colin absolutely loved his as well.  It was so cute to see them get so excited over pumpkins!

Harvest Party

Every year Colin's preschool hosts a harvest party for all the kiddos and their families.  The kids dress up in their costumes, run around and do all the activities and come away with lots of candy and prizes.  This year Colin is Luke Skywalker the pilot (he is obsessed with Star Wars) and Kendal is a lady bug.  Last year Colin was very apprehensive to do any of the activities, this year he was a little hesitant at first, but then warmed up and ended up doing most of the activities.  I was happy to see him enjoying the event.

Preschool at the Pumpkin Patch

Colin's preschool class headed to the pumpkin patch at Baggenstos Farms outside of Sherwood two weeks ago.  It was really fun to see Colin spend time with his two best friends at school, Caden and Nick.  It was hard to get a good picture of them all together since all they wanted to do was run around and chase each other.  Each kiddo got a pumpkin, then they all got to run around the pumpkin patch and finally they got to listen to a presentation on how the farm grows potatoes.  A very cute pumpkin patch and they offered perfect activites for preschoolers.

Pumpkin Patch

A couple of weeks ago we headed to the pumpkin patch at Bauman Farms.  This has been our pumpkin patch of choice for the last few years.  Tons of stuff for the kids to do.  It was an absolute beautiful day.  We met Amy, David, Sydney, Lincoln, Papa and Grams there.  I think the big hit this year was the bug train.  Colin could have rode on that all day if we let him.    As always the kids had a great time and we will be heading back there next year.
