Colin's Family Birthday Party

On sunday we had the whole family over to celebrate Colin's birthday. He wanted a Thomas the Train theme birthday, so that's what he got. Colin had an absolute ball having both sets of grandparents, aunts, uncles and especially cousins over at our house. All the kids played really great together. We had snacks, Colin opened his gifts and then we finished it off with singing happy birthday and eating cake. Colin got many wonderful gifts from all the family, but his big gift from Brian and I was a Thomas the Train table. Brian did some shopping on craig's list and found a great deal. Colin LOVES it!!!! He has pretty much played with it non-stop since we brought it in the house. I'm sure there will be many hours spent playing at the table.

Happy Birthday Colin!

On February 17th, Colin turned 3 years old! I can't believe he is 3 years old already!!! On his actual birthday I took him and Kendal to the Children's Museum in the morning and in the afternoon we had a birthday party for him at daycare with all his friends. At the Children's Musuem Colin enjoyed playing in the ambulance, water activity center and of course the train table. Kendal slept through the entire thing. At the daycare party all the kids ate cupcakes and played outside. They had a ball. I took some video of the kids playing follow the leader. My friend Beth was there with her 3 kids and her oldest daughter Ashley was the leader. The kids got the biggest kick out of playing the game. Colin had a really fun day!

Happy Valentine's Day Brian!

Happy Valentine's Day to my husband! Colin, Kendal, Jake and I send you lots of hugs and kisses. Thanks so much for the beautiful red roses and love note you sent. Hurry home soon! (Check out Colin's smile in all of these photos....pretty hilarious!)

The monster!

Colin loves playing monster. The other day he was playing around with my hamper and pretending he was a monster. It was pretty cute!

Tummy Time

This is Kendal's first attempt at tummy time. Looks like we have a long ways to go!

Flying Solo

It has been a couple of weeks now since Brian has gone back to Iraq, so I have a pretty good taste of what it is like to be a single mom of two young children. Basically it is a lot of work, but worth every minute of it. As each day passes I feel like I am getting a better idea of how to manage it all. It helps that two days a week Colin goes to daycare and one day a week my mom comes up to help me out. Kendal continues to be a very mellow sweet baby. Colin contiues to be very excited about Kendal, but the challenge is trying to teach him the art of gentleness. Colin is all boy...loves to wrestle, loves to jump, run, throw you name it. He can get pretty rough with her. However, I am starting to see a slight improvement with him being gentle with her. Hopefully as time goes on it will only get better. Here are a couple of photos of my munchkins.
